If you've taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you're new, please take a moment to answer this week's question on your own blog then add a link at the bottom of this post so we can all see your post. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Be sure to head back to Kenz's blog - All The Weigh and check out the rest!

FMM: Today I....

Today I felt... sick.

Today I saw.... my husband make homemade cinnamon rolls.

Today I ate... toast, honey nut cheerios, bacon and orange juice for breakfast, 2 chicken strips and a few fries for lunch. That's all so far.

Today I kissed... my husband and my son.

Today I bought... nothing.

Today I heard... my son laughing.. a beautiful sound.

Today I lost...my mind.

Today I decided... I need to lose the weight so I will stop getting sick so often.

Today I need... to do laundry and exercise(somehow with a cold).

Today I wish... I had lost the weight when I was a teenager.

If you participate, please put your link in a comment!  I'd love to see everyone else's answers!

Spring Fever Challenge Week Four!

I am posting early on Saturday since Sunday is Easter and my family will be busy with church and visiting family. I will link up on Monday morning.

Life's Journey with a Smile

photo 4.JPG
Easter Sunday at Church.

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
Water, Water, Water. I have been eating more veggies and fruit.
I am adding the veggies in through salads and making sure that
I prepare and serve a vegetable with every evening meal. I have
been attempting to pre plan my meals for the day the night before.
This week I will, hopefully, be planning for the whole week beforehand, meal planning and exercise planning. I need to get moving.

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
Might seem kind of odd but, I returned some stuff that I bought and
didn't need. We also moved some money to savings this past week.

Fill in the blanks:
Cooking comes naturally to me.
Cleaning does not come naturally to me.
I wish exercise came naturally to me.

Fun Question:  What is your favourite Easter candy? Are you allowing yourself some this year?
Reese's peanut butter eggs and yes I did have some this year.

I will be posting a quick weigh in post tomorrow morning.
MY 24TH BDAY IS IN 7DAYS!!! YAY!
Have a Hoppy Easter.

Sunday April 17th Weigh In!

My official weigh in that I took about 3 weeks ago was 251lbs. I contemplated not posting yesterday's weigh in, but I have to be honest with myself  as well as my readers.
250lbs.
So, only a loss of one pound, it could have, should have been alot more over three weeks time. However, it is a
new week and a new chance at getting it right. I am more prepared with food and planning exercising!
Goodnight!

P.S. ONLY 86 DAYS TIL THE BEACH!

Spring Fever Challenge Week Three!!!

Life's Journey with a Smile

No picture this week. We seriously need a new camera!

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
We went to the store and bought a bunch of fresh fruit and salad stuff.
I have been doing very good about only eating beef once a week. I had
a cheeseburger on Saturday and on Sunday I could have had a flank steak,
but I chose the pan roasted chicken instead. It was delish.
Reading the bible has shown to be more challenging than I expected it to
be... not because I don't believe it, I DO, wholeheartedly, it seams to be
one thing that gets put at the bottom of the list.
Saving $1000 is HARD. Sadly, this week we would have had it if I hadn't
gone shopping. I MUST LEARN DISCIPLINE!
I have been spending at least 15 minutes quietly before bed almost everday.
We have slept right through morning church the past two sundays and
had plans in the evening. We will be back in church on Easter.

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
We spent the weekend having a "stay-cation". My mother in law
had our son for the WHOLE weekend from Friday night to Sunday afternoon.
We spent the weekend eating out at NEW restaurants and shopping.
Ruby Tuesday is crappy, we will not be returning to them. Smashburger
is a great place for a burger and fries, inexpensive too. On Sunday
we enjoyed brunch at a place called Silo with friends. It was amazing!
It was a wonderful weekend, although I think we could've used our time
much better and we definently could have spent less money! I feel so bad
that we spent SSOOOO much money.

Are your SFC goals your ultimate goals or steps to your ultimate goals?
Do you find it easier to set big goals or do you like making mini-goals?
Steps to my ultimate goals. I set both types of goals.

What are some of your ultimate goals, things on your bucket list?
Run a 5K. Have another child. Become a personal trainer.

Fun Question: If you could achieve only one more thing in your life, what would it be?
To have a second child.

92 DAYS!!!

92 DAYS!!!
That is how many days stand between me now, and the me that will be standing on a beach!
I am so excited!!! My friend Kelly has started the countdown and now I have adopted it.
THE PLAN
(The all illusive plan I've been babbling about)
-125 ounces of water everyday
That's 8, 16.9oz bottles a day.
-Couch to 5K 3 to 4 days a week
Yes, I am attempting this again. I still want to run a 5K soon.
-Use Shape Magazine workouts/DVD's 3 days a week
The magazine workouts look very cool and I spent the money on the DVD's so might as well use them.
-Eat 6 small meals a day
I am using my Gestational Diabetes diet as a guide.
-Journal meals/snacks/indiscretions everyday
This was required by the doctors when I was pregnant. It really made me think about what I was eating.
-Weigh in once a week. Sunday ONLY
I used to weigh everyday and it would make me crazy, up 2 monday, down 3 wednesday, up 2 friday. No more, only ONCE a week.
-Take measurements/pictures once a month, 30th
To show progress in inches and physical appearance.
-Limit beef consumption to once a week
I have been trying to do this for a while now. I just feel better when I don't eat it as much.
-NO SODA
I accomplished getting off of them before our wedding and I felt great. That was a big part of the 46lbs I lost by our wedding in 2007. I want to get off them this time for good.

What do ya'll think of my plan? Any advice?

Spring Fever Challenge Week Two!!!!

Life's Journey with a Smile

I don't think the Gulf will look much like this but I can hope right???

1. {This will be a weekly question} What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
Well let's see.... I did sort of work toward goal 1 which is to lose 50 to 60lbs. Hubs and I met up with
our friends last Thursday to finalize the dates for our vacation to the coast which means that I now have
a goal DATE for getting in shape. We will be vacationing on the beach July 14th thru the 17th.
All the other goals got absolutely no attention this past week. Now that my hubs is back on days for work
I will be able to go to bed earlier and get up earlier to get in my quiet time, bible reading and workout.

2. {This will also be a weekly question} What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
I wore my shorts that I bought for this summer on Saturday to an event with alot of people I know from
church. I know that seems like a "weak feel good" but it's the best I have from this past week. Will be
better this week.

3. Is your mindset future-oriented or living in the now? How does this impact you when you are working
towards a goal?
I would say I have equal mind set. I know that there are certain things that must happen today for
tomorrow. I plan for the future but live in the now.

4. Is there someone in your {real} life that inspires you to strive for the best?
Yes. My Math teacher this semester, Mrs. Main. She is very intelligent and she believes in all of us,
that we can accomplish all we want to, even math and even if it is our 4th time taking the same class.
Maybe that belief in us has to do with her being a mom, all I know is that it has done wonders for me.
My Aunt Susan who passed in 2000 also inspired/inspires me to strive for the best. She wouldn't want any
less for me.

5. Fun Question of the Week: Do you read blogs on the individual websites or via Google Reader?
Google reader, by clicking and then reading the post in another window. I have some that aren't blogspot that I have them booked marked as a Favorite that I read.
Tomorrow I start "the plan"(yes I realize I still need to post about it)! I am excited!

Friday Post because I feel like it!!!

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY!
Oh, how I love this FRIDAY!!!
Why this Friday means so much to me:
- The ends of nights schedule for my husband for two weeks!!! YAY!
- Family Fun Day is tomorrow!
- We have made progress on our Coast trip for July.
- I am so happy that this week is over for school. It was such a stressful week with my math homework, quiz, and test! I can't wait to find out how I did on the test on Tuesday.
- With my hubby switching back to days next Monday it means that I will be going to bed early with him and getting up early. Hopefully, this will be key in getting my workouts and breakfasts in.
I am also excited for this weekend/next week because I am planning to start "my plan" on Monday. (next post will be the plan, laid out in detail).
I also need to set up a "tanning" routine so I don't burn to a crisp in July at the beach!
"tanning" for me equals- spending about 3 weeks going out in the sun for 20 to 30 minutes at a time with sunscreen on to ensure that I don't burn.
I have my MOTIVATIONAL BIKINI hanging on my wall!!!! And motivational quotes and pictures are front and center just about everywhere. I am also making "to-do" lists for everyday the night before and I am going to put my workouts on them so they will be something I have to check off the list at the end of the day!

Spring Fever Challenge button.

Life's Journey with a Smile

ok so on my spring fever challenge post the button link posted as the link. here is what the button looks like.

Spring Fever Challenge Week One!!!

Spring Fever Challenge Started Monday April 4th and runs through June 20th.
I am a little late in posting my week one post.

href="http://www.lifesjourneywithasmile.com" target="_blank"><img alt="Life's Journey with a Smile" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5100/5507617227_a9f7a0c559_m.jpg"/>

I have a picture of myself at 5 years old in the bluebonnets here in Texas. They are blooming now and I can't help but remember how much I love them and love Spring here in Texas.
1. What are your goals for the Spring Fever Challenge?
2. Why did you choose them? 3. What is your plan of action to make them happen?
The first three questions will be answered all at once.
Goal 1: Lose 50 to 60 pounds.
I chose this goal because I need to lost the extra harmful weight that I am carrying around.
How I will achieve it:
-Workout 6 days a week
-Only eat beef once a week
-Drink at least 125oz of water a day.
Goal 2: Read the Bible in 90 Days.
I chose this goal because I want to accomplish reading God's word in my lifetime. This is the fast track plan. I also want to grow my relationship with my Heavenly Father.
How I will achieve it:
-Purchase "The Bible in 90" bible. CHECK
-Follow the reading plan daily.
Goal 3: Save $1000
I chose this goal because we are tired of living paycheck to paycheck and having nothing but credit cards or credit card offers to pick up life's emergencies.
How I will achieve it:
-Have $100 automatically deposited into a separate saving account ever week.
-By not straying from the budget we have set at the beginning of each month.
Goal 4: Commit to spending 15 minutes of un-disturbed quiet time every day.
I chose this goal because I miss the feeling that Bikram Yoga gave me. It was 90 minutes of peace and quiet where my mind just shut off and gave my self time to just breathe and relax.
How I will achieve it:
-Making the time everyday to sit quietly either during my son's nap or after he has gone to bed.
-By just breathing and not worrying about anything else.
Goal 5: Attend our evening service at church at least twice a month, in addition to the regular morning service.
I chose this goal because our evening service seems more intimate than the morning services. I enjoy both very much. I look forward to the praise and worship service part of the evening service and I absolutely love the funny stories that our evening pastor tells.
How I will achieve this:
-Attend morning service every Sunday.
-Plan to attend the evening service ever other Sunday.
-If missed, attend the next Sundays evening service.

4. What does this challenge mean to you?
It means I have another shot at finding my self discipline and my motivation, and becoming the healthier more spiritual person I long to be. It means that I need to focus and plan things in advance so that I can watch them come to life.

5.Fun Question of the Week: Let's  get to know each other! What is something most people (er... fellow bloggers) don't know about you?
I was born 13 weeks premature, weighed 2.5lbs and was only 13inches long. I spent 64 days in the hospital as an infant. I have 7 scars all from before the age of 6 months old.
Have a great day,
~RustiAnn
