Exciting News Friday BIKRAM YOGA!

Bikram Yoga

This week I tried something new, Bikram Yoga. I must say I enjoyed the quiet slow breathing of the yoga. I didn't really enjoy the postures though(probably because i can't do them all yet). And the 105degree room wasn't my favorite thing about although the sweating has majorly helped my skin. I have always had extremely dry skin. I have only been to 3 classes and my skin is moisturized and supple. It is amazing. I know I won't CURRENTLY be joining the yoga studio because even with my student discount it is still almost $80 a month to join, I CAN'T AFFORD THAT. (lol i dont know who can). I have 7 more classes that I can take. I am not sure if I am going to finish them. I feel i get more out of the quietness of the room and the breathing slowly than anything else. I hope I will make time to find quiet in my life on a daily basis with out the bikram yoga. My gym does offer yoga classes so that is an option if I want to continue the practice. Anyway I am very happy I tried bikram yoga. Maybe some day I will join the Bikram Yoga studio here in san antonio texas, maybe when i have a job and about 50lbs from now lol. We will see. To be quite honest I really love the hot yoga and I wish I could join right now. However budget wise it just isn't feasible. I know that the postures are difficult right now because I am not very flexible and with time it will get better. I met some awesome people, Dawn, Vandi, Laura and Tara are just a few of the awesome people. EVERYONE is very nice at the yoga studio and they do all have a focused zen type of air about them. If you are wanting to try something new or shake up your routine I totally recommend trying Bikram yoga. Make sure you hydrate the day before and the day of your first class and after. It is an amazing experience. I have never felt so focused or relaxed as I have with Bikram yoga. oh yeah be prepared to SWEAT even if you don't think you will sweat YOU WILL.
Super excited today because I went to Old  Navy and bought a new pair of jeans. A size 18. The last time I bought a pair of jeans there I needed the size 20. And I actually think I could have bought the size 16 but for comfort and possible shrinking I went with the 18. And I bought some more t-shirts in a size Large instead of xl or xxl YAY ME! so anyway that is all for now.

  1. I love reading about someone else's first Bikram experience. I sucked at all the poses, the entire time. I'm also not that good at quieting my head... in fact, I was writing my blog post in my head during the class. I wish the studio here was $80/month... try $175. Not sure I'm ready to commit yet, but I will prob buy a package of 5 for $75. That will give me once per week. Losing weight is soooo expensive! Oy.

I'm proud we both made it through and had something good to blog about after!
